Denise Marecki, R.D., C.W.C.
Denise Marecki, R.D. is the ReNew Weight Management Program Manager. She is a Registered Dietitian, specializing in wellness. Denise, a graduate of Michigan State University, has over 30 years of experience in clinical and wellness nutrition and is certified in Adult Weight Management by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Denise is also a Certified Wellness Coach. She has previously worked at the University of Michigan Medical Center and SpecialTree Rehabilitation System.
Denise’s nutrition philosophy is that food is to nourish us and encourages all to embrace healthy food shopping, preparation and best of all, the joy of healthy eating. She truly enjoys working with clients of the ReNew program and seeing them change their lives in remarkable ways. She says, “I have the greatest respect for our clients who are accomplished, intelligent and determined to live a fuller and healthier life. It is such a pleasure to get to know them and see them through an incredible journey towards their goals.”
Denise lives in Novi with her husband and her elderly but energetic dog. She has three adult children. She loves to try new recipes, do herb gardening, take long walks outside and travel when she gets the chance.
Ruth Ranks M.Ed., R.D.
Ruth is a Health Educator with the ReNew Weight Management Program. Ruth studied Nutrition and Economics/Management at Albion College and has a Master’s of Education in Nutrition from the University of Cincinnati. She has been a Registered Dietitian and worked in many different settings over the past 25 years. Currently, Ruth is also an Adjunct Instructor of Nutrition at Oakland Community College in Royal Oak and Central Michigan University’s global campus in the Detroit area. Of the ReNew Program, Ruth says “I am thrilled to be part of each client’s journey toward better health and long term weight management. It is so exciting to share in their successes and see people stop taking medication for high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol and take control over their weight and overall health. The group members and I truly develop a bond and shared sense of accomplishment!”
Ruth lives in the area with her husband, two teenagers and one crazy dog. In her free time, she likes to cook, read about and shop for food, walk, and spend time outdoors.
Julia Stevens, M.P.H., R.D., C.P.T.
Julia is a Health Educator with the ReNew Weight Management Program. She studied Exercise Science at Alma College and has a Master’s of Public Health in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan, where she also completed her Registered Dietitian training. Julia is certified in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Personal Training from the American Council on Exercise, and is also extensively trained in wellness and health coaching. Julia has worked in the weight management and chronic disease management field for over 10 years focusing on a combination of exercise, nutrition, and behavior change to drive success for her clients.
To future and current ReNew clients, she says, “As your coach, I commit to helping you clarify your goals, to support you through your journey, and to celebrate with you when you reach the end!”
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family (husband, 2 little girls and a little boy on the way), doing anything active outdoors, and experimenting in the kitchen.
