Farmington Hills, Mich. (November 1, 2011)---Botsford Hospital’s next Walk with a Doc will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at Heritage Page Nature Center in Farmington Hills. The free outing will include tips on foot health from Marshall Solomon, D.P.M.
This outing represents an opportunity to talk about the prevention and treatment of foot injuries in a relaxed setting. To register for the event, call (877) 477-DOC1 and select option 1. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to take part.
Dr. Solomon, a recipient of the Maimonides Award, is director of Podiatric Medicine Education and Residency Training at Botsford Hospital and is chairman of the Department of Podiatric Medicine at Botsford. He is Board certified by American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
Heritage Park is located on the west side of Farmington Road between 10 and 11 Mile Roads. Participants will gather at the Nature Center for a brief introduction to Dr. Solomon. Nature Center staff will participate in the group walk. The event is expect to last about one hour and will take place rain or shine.
Botsford is the first hospital in Michigan to join the Just Walk with a Doc program which hosts free community walks led by a doctor and emphasizes the benefits of exercise while providing information on a variety of health topics.
