Botsford's Trauma Awareness Campaign Features Giant Building Banners

Farmington Hills, Mich. (August 6, 2010)---Botsford Hospital has unveiled a new component of its campaign to increase awareness of the hospital’s status as a Trauma Center.

Super-sized signage was installed over the weekend that appears to wrap the exterior portion of the hospital that houses the Emergency Center as well as the South Professional Building, a medical office building on the south side of the hospital campus.

“Time is of the essence when finding emergency or trauma care and we want to be sure our local residents and communities are aware that there is a Trauma Center here at Botsford Hospital,” said Margo Gorchow, vice president for community relations and marketing at Botsford Hospital.

The first campaign of its kind for Botsford Hospital, the signage installation is expected to remain in place for three months. The vinyl mesh appears opaque but allows light to filter through the windows. Designed by Botsford’s advertising agency, Tango Associates of Farmington Hills, the signs were printed and installed by Innovative Media of Farmington Hills.

Other components of Botsford’s trauma center awareness campaign include radio, cable, and television advertising, outdoor advertising along I96, presentations to local city councils and community groups, an educational event for area police and fire chiefs and articles in the hospital’s consumer newsletter.

Botsford Hospital was verified as a Trauma Center by the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in late February. This achievement recognized Botsford’s dedication to provide optimal care for injured patients and made Botsford the first Trauma Center serving the western portion of Oakland County.

Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system. Botsford Hospital each year cares for approximately 16,000 inpatients and more than 60,000 emergency and trauma patients with a team of 2,500 employees, 300 volunteers and more than 600 physicians. A not-for-profit hospital, Botsford provided almost $10.5 million in community benefit during its 2011 fiscal year.
