Botsford Hosts U-M/MSU Tailgate Event With A Twist of Fitness

Novi, MI (October 10, 2008)--- Are you a Michigan or Michigan State football fan?  Are you looking forward to the big game on October 25?  If so, be sure to stop by the Botsford Center for Health Improvement (BCHI) on Wednesday, October 22 to display team spirit.

BCHI will host a U-M/ MSU tailgate event that has a twist.  The event will focus on fitness as a way to root for your team.  You’ll be able to earn touchdowns, field goals and conversion points for your team by working out for free at BCHI.  Points will be awarded for attending group fitness classes, using fitness equipment and even for showing your team spirit.

The winning team will have their team colors displayed throughout the facility and their flag waved at the entrance for one week.  Raffle prizes including logo wear will be part of the fun.  Monica Pagels, Botsford Center for Health Improvement Manager, says, “Participating in this event is a great way to get healthy while supporting your team.  So, put on your favorite team colors and move your team down the field.”

The Botsford Center for Health Improvement is the first medical model fitness center in Metro Detroit.  More than a health club, the Botsford Center for Health Improvement offers a “medical model” approach to all of its programs, integrating fitness, lifestyle and behavior management with medical and clinical practices.  The facility is open to the general community offering an all-inclusive membership featuring group exercise classes and aquatics.

For questions about the U-M/MSU tailgate event, please contact the Botsford Center for Health Improvement at (248) 473-3100 or go to www.botsford.org/bchi.  The Botsford Center for Health Improvement is located at 39750 Grand River Ave. in Novi.
