Farmington Hills, MI (July 31, 2006)--- Eric Kovan, D.O., has been named the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Director at the Botsford Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Center, a part of the Botsford Commons Senior Community. The Botsford Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Center is a subacute rehab facility that offers rehabilitation services in a supportive, medically monitored location helping the transition of going back home after leaving the hospital.
With this new position, Dr. Kovan will now oversee all of Botsford’s rehab services, which will allow him to work with patients in subacute rehab, outpatient rehab or inpatient rehab. Dr. Kovan also serves as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Director of Botsford General Hospital’s 3 South Rehab unit and all of the Botsford outpatient sites.
Dr. Kovan says, “With my new responsibilities, I will be able to better follow patients through all of their rehab care whether in the hospital or through short term sub-acute nursing care. By leading all rehab programs at Botsford, it will allow us to more effectively manage the level of care and will make the transition between rehab programs more comfortable for the patients because of a familiar face.”
Dr. Kovan began his career at Botsford in 1994 where he completed his medical internship. He then completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Detroit Medical Center/Sinai Hospital before returning to Botsford in 1999.
