Joseph L. Williams, D. O. enjoys keeping his patients healthy by integrating healthy lifestyle advice, preventive health care, and incorporating a holistic approach to patient care. He believes that the body has the ability to heal itself of many ailments. Dr. Williams sees adults and children beginning at age 5. He has particular interest in sports medicine and preventive health care.
Dr. Williams is board certified in Family Practice. He completed his internship training at Botsford Hospital and his residency training as chief resident through Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Williams serves as medical director of the ReNew Weight Loss program and clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also medical director for primary care services for Global Health Services Network (GHSN). He has been on staff at Botsford Hospital since 1992. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. William's hobbies and accomplishments:
- Played NCAA Division 2 Football for Ashland University (nationally ranked)
- Natural Body Building Mr. USA champion
- National Power Lifting Bench Press and Power Sport Champion
- Dr. Williams served as a physician for the US Cup Soccer Tournament 1993 and the World Cup Soccer Tournament 1994 including the semi final Brazil/England match.

Appointments
Call our office at (248) 476-3333 for appointments. Most patients are seen within 24 hours. We offer urgent care and emergency appointments the same day.
After hours
In the event of an emergency, please contact 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. If you must speak with the doctor before the next business day, he may be reached at (248) 345-8785. For less urgent calls, you may call the office at (248) 476-3333 and leave a message. You will be contacted on the next business day.
Prescription Refills
Medication refills occur at the time of the office visit. You can also call your pharmacy to ask that they send us an electronic request for a refill.
For monitoring purposes, we would like to examine patients with chronic health issues annually (if stable) or more frequently depending on their condition. Therefore, the quantity of medication(s) refilled is based on the date the patient was last seen and the severity of their condition. We utilize a user-friendly, efficient, electronic prescribing system.
