Lisa Pierce, a Nurse Practitioner, sees patients at Midwest Internal Medicine Associates for health maintenance visits, as well as, for treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. She collaborates with the practice's physicians to provide patients with a team approach to treating acute illness and achieving optimum health maintenance. Lisa helps patients to maintain health, lessen their risk for cardiovascular disease, maintain a health weight and stop smoking.

She has worked at Botsford Hospital as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for many years. Lisa's wealth of nursing experience includes Critical Care, Cardiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Internal Medicine.

Earning an undergraduate degree in Nursing at mercy College, Detroit, she went on to earn a graduate Nursing degree at Wayne State University, Detroit. She completed her Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification training at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Lisa is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for Acute Care, the American Heart Association for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and the American Nurses Association for Critical Care. She teaches Critical Care and Cardiac Rehabilitation to nurses at Botsford and serves as a guest lecturer and preceptor at several area colleges and universities.

Our certified nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with additional formal education, including specialized knowledge and clinical skills in health care. Working with physicians and other health professionals, a C.N.P. performs a broad range of primary health care services such as physical examinations, treats common illnesses, coordinates care of common chronic illnesses, and helps patents meet their health needs.
