The following information will explain the process and some perks that Botsford Hospital offers to readily assist you through the steps when having a surgical evaluation or test.
First, a registered nurse completes a pre-anesthesia assessment, which is followed by any necessary tests such as lab work, chest X-ray and/or EKG.
Then your patient care information, test results and preoperative teaching are coordinated with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and primary and consulting physicians. As needed, an anesthesiologist is available for consultation prior to the day of surgery. All paperwork necessary to complete your chart for the morning of surgery is coordinated and prepared.
On the day of surgery, all patients will consult with an anesthesiologist.
Through this process, we look forward to achieving optimal readiness as your health care team for the day of surgery.
