Board certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Sklar has been in practice for more than 20 years and specializes in pulmonary medicine, sleep disorders, asthma and difficult-to-control asthma. Dr. Sklar puts an emphasis on providing individualized, compassionate care in treating his patients. He has an active practice in pulmonary and sleep medicine.
On-site services include pulmonary function testing, 6-minute walk testing and evaluation for and titration of home oxygen therapy. Sleep testing and follow-up evaluations, CT scans and chest x-rays are also readily available, scheduled through Dr. Sklar’s office.
Dr. Sklar received his medical education from the American University of the Caribbean, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac where he served as co-chief resident. Dr. Sklar holds a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine through Wayne State University Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Sklar serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and has received the Medical Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Sklar’s professional affiliations include Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
