Once your treatment is completed, your medical oncologist will hold regular follow-up appointments with you. He or she will decide how often these visits occur. Usually, these visits are one to three months for at least five years. Some visits will include blood tests, and your oncologist may also determine if other tests, such as CT scans or x-rays, are needed.
You are encouraged to call your oncologist or nurse if you have questions or concerns before the next appointment. If you don’t feel well, do not hesitate to call your oncologist or nurse.
If you have any questions about developing a routine healthcare program, please ask your doctor or nurse.
