Breastfeeding Services

Insurance

Botsford Breastfeeding Services offers direct billing to Blue Cross/Blue Shield and other insurances* for reimbursement on Electric Breastpump Purchase!

Pumps available:
Ameda Purely Yours® with Tote
Ameda Purely Yours® without Tote

Procedure:

1. Obtain prescription from your health care provider with a diagnosis of "lactating mother", and any other relevant diagnoses.
2. Call our clinic and provide us with your insurance contract information. We will verify insurance and let you know what your costs will be (if any).
3. Come in to pick up your new pump; receive hands on assistance from a Certified Lactation Consultant regarding pumping and pump use.
4. Pay your co-pay and/or deductible when you pick up the pump.

All the paperwork can be completed during pregnancy, and pumps are provided when billing is submitted following delivery.

Medicaid billing available for Electric Pump Rental when mother and infant are separated, and specific clinical criteria are met. Call for further information.

* Most BCBSM policies cover electric pump purchase (as a DME), but contracts must be evaluated individually. Other insurance carriers may cover pump purchases and can be investigated on a case by case basis.
