Breastfeeding Services

In the Hospital

At Botsford Hospital we are happy to support you in your decision to breastfeed your baby. Following delivery, we encourage keeping your baby with you in your room.

Breastfeeding is most successful if you nurse immediately after delivery and frequently during your hospital stay. In this way, you gain experience and we can assist should you need help.

We have resources to help you with breastfeeding during your stay in our New Beginnings Maternity Center:

• A lactation consultant will provide a personal consultation to determine your breastfeeding needs and assist you with nursing your baby.
• An informational packet filled with helpful hints to get you off to a good start and to keep you there!
• A supportive nursing staff to assist you.
• Supplies to support your breastfeeding efforts in the hospital.
