After Discharge

Our breastfeeding services continue to provide support after you go home. We recommend you exclusively breastfeed your baby for the first 2-4 weeks (no bottles).

After this period, some women choose to provide breastmilk for their infants when separated for a feeding, or when they go back to work. Breastmilk can be obtained using manual expression, or by pumping with either a hand or electric breastpump. Supplies and equipment for expressing breastmilk can be purchased and/or rented through the Botsford Breastfeeding Services.

Our services include:

Insurance reimbursement for electric breastpumps
Phone consultations with lactation consultants should you have any breastfeeding questions once you are home
An appointment with a consultant at Breastfeeding Services Office
Electric breastpump rental and supplies
Medication counseling
Private consultation with a breastfeeding expert
