da VinciĀ© Robotic Surgery

How it works

The da Vinci surgery system has revolutionized surgery. Your surgeon will make the necessary incisions and carefully position the robotic arms. Unlike laparoscopy or traditional surgery, once the equipment is in the exact location, the surgeon then takes a seat at the da Vinci console. There, your surgeon will perform the surgery using magnified, high-resolution 3D images of the surgical site. State-of-the-art robotic and computer technologies scale, filter and seamlessly translate your surgeon's hand movements into precise micro-movements of the da Vinci instruments. With a 360-degree range of motion, the surgeon can move the instruments with the same natural motions used in traditional, open surgery.

Throughout the entire procedure, the surgeon is controlling every aspect of the surgery. The System cannot be programmed, nor can it make decisions on its own. Rather, the da Vinci System requires that every surgical maneuver be performed with direct input from your surgeon.

It is an amazing technological resource that enhances the surgeon’s skills and improves outcomes.
