Family Practice/NMM
Rotation Schedule
During the PGY-2 and PGY-3 years, residents spend one half day per week and four monthly rotations in the office of an OMM/NMM specialist.
PGY-2
Continuity clinic schedule: two half-days in Family Practice continuity clinic; one half-day in NMM continuity clinic.
Present two lectures per year on NMM topics. Target audiences include FP residents, house staff, MSU and community groups.
Participate monthly in NMM lectures as assistants and table trainers.
Attend monthly journal club on NMM with the NMM program journal club. This is in addition to FP program journal club.
Attend weekly didactics with NMM program participants.
Complete the required four months rotation in NMM.
PGY-3
Continuity clinic schedule: two half-days in Family Practice continuity clinic; one half-day in NMM continuity clinic.
Present two lectures per year on NMM topics. Target audiences include FP residents, house staff MSU and community groups.
Participate monthly in NMM lectures as assistants and table trainers.
Attend monthly journal club on NMM with the NMM program participants. This is in addition to the FP program journal club.
Attend weekly didactics with NMM program participants.
Complete the required four months rotation in NMM.
PGY-4
Continuity clinic schedule: two half-days in Family Practice continuity clinic; one half-day in NMM continuity clinic.
Spend one clinic 1/2 day in continuity care at a FP clinic seeing patients and/or precepting students or residents as needs of the FP program dictate.
Present two lectures per year on NMM topics. Target audiences include FP residents, house staff, MSU and community groups.
Participate monthly in NMM lectures as assistants and table trainers.
Attend monthly journal club on NMM with the NMM program participants. This is in addition to FP program journal club.
Attend weekly didactics with NMM program participants.
Complete the required four months rotation in NMM.
Satisfactory complete a paper on NMM/primary care topic on subject mutually agreed upon by resident and FP and NMM program directors.
Complete eligibility requirements for ACOFP and AOBNMM examinations.
Applicants are encouraged to rotate at the OMM and FP training clinics to gain exposure to the residency program and to interview for the program.
