The Otolaryngology-Orofacial Plastic Surgery program at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills is a five-year residency, including the tracked internship. The residency provides a wide exposure to techniques involving management of head and neck pathology, pediatric ENT, head and neck trauma, airway emergencies, as well as post-operative care of patients. ENT residents provide all Emergency Department call and inpatient consultation services with supervision from attending physicians.
Affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM), ENT residents coordinate and participate in the Statewide Campus System (SCS) Otolaryngology Symposiums: Otology/Temporal Bone Lab, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Lecture and Anatomy Lab, Coding and Billing and Residency Leadership. The SCS is a partnership of twenty major osteopathic teaching hospitals and MSUCOM.
Established in 1979, Beaumont proudly supports the education and surgical training of Otolaryngology/Facial Plastics Surgery residents and has many ENT graduates across the country.
This residency is approved by the AOCOO-HNS and fulfills requirements set by the guidelines for training at http://www.aocoohns.org/.
Otolaryngology submitted their ACGME application on September 28, 2016 and are currently Pre-Accredited. We are awaiting notice for a site visit. Once the site visit is over and the ACGME Residency Committee for Otolaryngology has met, an accreditation decision will be made. Beaumont, Farmington Hills Otolaryngology program is committed to meeting program requirements, as specified by the ACGME, to ensure accreditation is granted.
Call Schedule: Five residents share 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend per month.
