This program is designed for individuals new to insulin.
A diabetes educator conducts your initial assessment. One-to-one instruction sessions follow based on the needs of the individual. Clients are instructed on insulin administration and blood glucose monitoring, signs and symptoms of high and low blood glucose and meal planning.
A physician prescription is required to enter the program. Medicare, Medicaid and many health insurance carriers cover the program.
