Trauma Center Verification: A Significant First Step
Following many months of Botsford Hospital staff members’ hard work and a rigorous verification and inspection process with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, Botsford Hospital has received verification as a Trauma Center.
This is a great achievement for our organization, but it is equally important to the people who live, work and travel in or near the western portions of Oakland and Wayne Counties. Botsford is now recognized as an institution that stands ready to provide definitive care, regardless of the injury’s severity, to all trauma victims who arrive at our hospital.
The tremendous resources of our Emergency Center, Critical Care Center, operating rooms, rehabilitation facilities and the medical professionals staffing them allow us to provide treatments that meet the highest standards and care that is unsurpassed. The verification represents a significant step for Botsford Hospital. We intend to continue to strengthen our trauma care by enhancing our technology, facilities and staff. You can also expect to see Botsford working to reduce trauma injuries in the communities we serve. One of the requirements for trauma center verification is a strong educational component. The simple fact is that many traumatic injuries can be prevented. Expect to see Trauma Services team members in your community offering strategies for avoiding serious injuries.
