Babysitting: not Just Kids’ stuff
Taught by a registered nurse, children ages 11 to 14 learn the fundamentals of child care in preparation for their first babysitting job.

Eight- to 13-year-olds can learn from emergency medical service personnel about preventing injuries and saving lives, basic first-aid skills, CPR, bicycle and home safety, fire prevention and actions to take in an emergency. Also, tour a 911 dispatch center and ambulance.

Teens ages 14 to 18 can hear from an emergency medical technician about working in the health care industry. Participate in accident-victim scenarios, from the 911 call to the ER. The 12-week program includes CPR and first-aid certification. Also, practice trauma skills and study injury prevention.
