Gestational Diabetes
This program is an individualized educational program for pregnant women who have gestational diabetes and require nutrition and/or insulin instruction. A physician prescription is required to enter the program.
The patient is assessed by a diabetes educator on the following topics:
- Understanding gestational diabetes
- Medical nutrition management
- Self monitoring of blood glucose
- Medication therapy as needed
Follow-up is arranged on an as-needed basis.
