Richard G. Herman, D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G.
Dr. Herman believes that women benefit greatly from a physician who cares and communicates with knowledge, sincerity and compassion, which are important in building a lasting physician/patient relationship.
Dr. Herman performs innovative surgeries including: minimal incision hysterectomy, with full recovery in less than one week; laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy; correction of pelvic prolapse; surgeries for urinary incontinence to reduce or eliminate unplanned loss of urine, as well as office endometrial ablations, and office tubal occlusion. He works to perform the least invasive surgery possible to help patients feel better, faster, with the least downtime or discomfort.
Dr. Herman employs alternative medical treatment when beneficial and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist. He also performs treatment and evaluation of interstitial cystitis.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Herman is an assistant clinical professor in OB/GYN at Michigan State University and is a Fellow and Senior Member of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG). Dr. Herman is also affiliated with the American Osteopathic Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Michigan Osteopathic Association of Physicians and Surgeons.
