Trainers Bios


  • Chris Garner is a certified Personal Trainer and a Self-Defense Specialist.  His specialty is cardiovascular endurance and personal safety.

    Chris has studied mixed martial arts for years in the styles of Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kempo, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Weapons. His fitness philosophy is "Train Strong to Remain Strong".
  • Jason Kurtzhals is a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and aquatics instructor at BCHI. He began his fitness career in the U.S. Air Force where he was appointed to the his unit's physical training instructor. When Jason was assigned to a special operations unit and deployed to Iraq he continued to train and condition his fellow troops. Upon departing the military Jason attended the National Personal Trainer Institute where he became a certified personal trainer. His first step into training civilians as opposed to military members began at the Royal Oak Y.M.C.A. It was there he worked with disabled children, special populations and was a group fitness instructor. During that time he was also the Detroit Rugby's strength and conditioning coach and led them to their highest winning season. From there Jason worked at the Detroit Athletic Club where he developed a swimming program that won the NACAD Aquatics Program of the Year.

    Now at BCHI Jason works with all ranges of individuals from weight loss, aquatic training, strength and conditioning and is a group fitness instructor. Jason's philosophy is: "Looking back means you've gone forward".

  • Erin Mitchell has been involved in fitness for over 10 years. She started as a dancer at the age of 7 and at 18 became interested in fitness. After 14 years of being fitness conscious, Erin believes that the body and mind work hand and hand in keeping a person mentally and physically sound. They both need regular workouts.

     

    She likes to keep workouts fun but effective so that you can achieve your goals with satisfaction. Fitness is a major component of her life.

    Currently, she is certified in both Group Exercise and personal Training.
