Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (May 8, 2009)---Botsford Hospital has received a grant for 750 dollars from the Village Women’s Club Foundation in Bloomfield Hills. The money will support Botsford’s Make a Difference initiative that provides stuffed animals to children arriving in the Emergency Center.
Botsford Hospital’s Make a Difference program has been supporting various hospital projects since 2004. The program currently provides stuffed animals to more than 3,000 children under the age of five who come to Botsford’s Emergency Center each year scared and unsure of what lies ahead.
Sanford Vieder, D.O., Botsford Hospital Emergency Center Chairman, says, “At Botsford, we are proud of the warm, compassionate care we create for every patient, especially children. Thanks to the Village Women’s Club Foundation we can offer these stuffed animals to help alleviate fear in young children exposed to traumatic or stressful life events.”
Botsford hopes to have the stuffed animals purchased from this grant in their Emergency Center later this month. In addition to the grant, funding continually comes from in-kind donations and private donors. If you are interested in learning more or contributing to this program, please contact Marla Kaminsky, Development Associate at The Botsford Foundation, at (248) 442-5045.
