Farmington Hills, Mich. (September 13, 2013)---Mazen Awais, M.D., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. Dr. Awais, a board-certified cardiologist, recently joined a medical practice in Livonia, Advanced Cardiovascular Health Specialists, P.C., located at 37799 Professional Center Dr., Suite 105, phone (734) 464-3251.
After graduating from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Awais served his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. He then completed a three-year fellowship there in cardiovascular diseases.
As principal investigator or co-investigator, Dr. Awais has been involved in numerous clinical research projects and has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. His clinical interests include coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis, and aortic aneurysm.
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system.
