Farmington Hills, Mich. (April 4, 2013)---Botsford Hospital hosts its sixth annual Safety Fair on Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the Community Room of its Zieger Administration & Education Center. This fun, FREE event for the whole family offers hands-on demonstrations for keeping everyone safe in and out of your home this summer. Many activities for kids, plus the popular Children's Hospital Helmet Booth*.
What else? AAA Traffic Safety's driving simulator, orthopedic information, Dr. Paws Pet Assisted Therapy Dogs, Community EMS ambulance tours, Farmington Hills Fire Department demonstrating its smoke house, Farmington Hills Emergency Preparedness Commission, Farmington Hills Police Department, medical transport helicopter tours, Botsford's Emergency & Trauma Center, DTE's weather safety booth, Botsford's Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department on preventing falls and maintaining balance, American Red Cross Disaster Services giving a shelter simulation, a visit from Maverick from the Redford Township Police Department's K-9 Unit, plus giveaways and games. * Helmet sizes and colors are limited. While supplies last. For kids 14 and younger. Free bicycle helmet available for the first 100 children. Sizes cannot be guaranteed. First come, first served. Child must be present. Safety expert available to properly size and fit all helmets, including helmets brought from home.
