Farmington Hills, Mich. (June 25, 2012)---Jeffrey C. Yeamans, M.D., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. This board-certified urologist sees patients at these locations of Comprehensive Urology: at 18325 Ten Mile Rd., Suite 200, in Roseville; at 28565 Schoenherr Rd. in Warren; and at 43475 Dalcoma St., Suite 140, in Clinton Twp. After receiving his medical education from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Yeamans remained at Georgetown for the general surgical internship and the urologic residency. He also served a yearlong stint as chief resident. Yeamans received a number of accolades at Georgetown, including the William C. Maxted Medical Student Excellence in Urology Award, the String of Pearls Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Pfizer Scholars in Urology Award. He was also the AUA/PRAECIS Pharmaceutical Incorporated Gerald P. Murphy Scholar.
Yeamans is a member-at-large on the Medical Executive Committee of the Michigan Urologic Society. Twice he has been a course director for the Michigan Urologic Society seminar at the annual scientific meeting of the Michigan State Medical Society.
He has taken training in several areas of specialization: laparoendoscopic single-site surgery, da Vinci robotic surgery, pelvic floor reconstruction, cryocare-targeted cryoablation for urologic applications, and using laser for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Yeamans has been the lead researcher in several medical studies, has given many lectures and presentations, and is an assistant professor at Oakland University’s Medical School where he developed, and is the course director for, the Male Reproductive Basic Science Unit taught to medical students.
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
