Farmington Hills, Mich. (June 18, 2012)---Narendra Kumar, DPT, has been hired to serve as Botsford Hospital's new director of physical medicine and rehabilitation. He began this position in May.
Kumar has responsibility for Botsford Hospital's inpatient rehabilitation and its four outpatient rehabilitation centers, inclusive of the physical, occupational and speech therapy programs.
He comes to Botsford Hospital from Garden City Hospital where he had been serving as director of rehabilitation therapies and sports medicine since 2010. Kumar’s 13-year work experience also includes a previous stint at Botsford as manager of therapy services and other positions in physical rehabilitation served in the United Kingdom and India.
Kumar holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences-A.T. Still University, Mesa, Arizona. He is a licensed physical therapist in the State of Michigan. Kumar serves on the Advisory Boards for Baker College in Auburn Hills and South University in Novi.
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system.
