Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (May 18, 2012)---Patricia Siegel, a certified registered nurse anesthetist and manager of the Anesthesia Department at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, has been selected as a recipient of a Botsford Hospital 2012 Safety Excellence Award. The award recognizes employees' contributions to the hospital's safety initiatives. Safety is a pillar on which the hospital has built its clinical care.
Siegel, a resident of West Bloomfield, was recognized for coming to the aid of a victim of a vehicular accident that occurred this past winter in Commerce Township. In February, Siegel was driving at night when a motorist involved in this traffic accident flagged her down for help. She stopped to lend assistance and discovered an unresponsive individual. Siegel immediately initiated CPR and continued until advanced life support arrived.
Although the person did not survive his injuries, Siegel’s willingness to stop and provide critical support to a stranger was exemplary of her commitment to health care.
