Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (April 19, 2012)---David Gaffney has been hired to serve as Botsford Hospital's new director of medical imaging. He began this position April 17.
Gaffney has responsibility over the Botsford Imaging Center, a newly renovated and technologically advanced facility that includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), digital mammography, x-ray, ultrasound and nuclear medicine.
He comes to Botsford Hospital from Henry Ford Macomb Hospital-Warren Campus where he had been serving as director of medical imaging since 2006. Gaffney’s 22-year work experience also includes radiologic positions at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Providence Hospital and the former St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Macomb, now part of Henry Ford Health System.
Gaffney holds a master of business administration degree from University of Detroit Mercy and a bachelor's degree in radiology from St. Mary's College. He is certified as a registered radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Gaffney also has administrative certification from the American Healthcare Radiology Association.
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system. Botsford Hospital each year cares for approximately 16,000 inpatients and more than 60,000 emergency and trauma patients with a team of 2,500 employees, 300 volunteers and more than 600 physicians. A not-for-profit hospital, Botsford provided almost $10.5 million in community benefit during its 2011 fiscal year.
