Farmington Hills, Mich. (September 26, 2011)--- The Botsford Cancer Center will host a Women's Health event on October 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Join us for an informative and enlightening morning devoted to the celebration of women," said Nicholle Mehr, director of the center.
The event represents Botsford's kickoff to the 25th national observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event will include free massages along with displays by the American Cancer Society. Botsford nurses will provide cancer screening guidelines, self-examination tips and a discussion of the importance of early detection. Advance registration is required for the free mammograms. A highlight of the event will be a presentation by Dr. Savitha Balaraman, a Botsford oncologist, at 10 a.m. Her topic will be Cancer Prevention, Screenings and Updates.
The Botsford Cancer Center is located at 27900 Grand River Ave, in Farmington Hills.
