Novi, Mich. (November 23, 2010)---Are you ready for the holidays? The Botsford Center for Health Improvement in Novi is offering five holiday survival classes in December to help get you through the holiday season. The free sessions will be held every Wednesday in December from 7 to 8 p.m. and will focus on different healthy seasonal topics.
December 1: Holiday Stress Management
Do you find that, rather than feeling jolly and care-free, the holiday season leaves you feeling stressed and overwhelmed? Find out why this phenomenon has become all too common, and learn how you can eliminate the stress and enjoy the holidays as they were meant to be enjoyed!
December 8: Healthy and Stress Free Holiday Cooking
The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, but it’s also a time of stress. Much of this stress comes from trying to create the picture-perfect holiday meals that grace magazine covers. Learn ways to simplify a holiday meal.
December 15: Finding Time to Exercise During the Holidays
The season offers many opportunities for extra eating and drinking. In addition, when busy schedules become even busier with the holiday rush, exercise is often a casualty. That all adds to the potential for picking up unwelcome pounds between now and New Year’s Day. Learn tips and strategies to help you maintain your fitness level over the holidays.
December 22: Winter Safety Tips
While many people wish for a “White Christmas,” the reality is that snow and ice can be painful. Whether it’s from a fall or not using the proper technique when shoveling, learn tips that can help you stay safe and healthy through the winter months.
December 29: Healthy in the New Year
During the last few days of 2010, you may be thinking about changing your diet and lifestyle. Do you need to lose a few pounds? Do you need to eat better foods to improve your health? Do your kids need to eat healthier foods? If you are making your new year’s resolutions and need a little help designing a healthy new lifestyle, attend this session for help creating a healthy new diet and lifestyle for 2011.
