Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (August 6, 2010)---Botsford Hospital has unveiled a new component of its campaign to increase awareness of the hospital’s status as a Trauma Center.
Super-sized signage was installed over the weekend that appears to wrap the exterior portion of the hospital that houses the Emergency Center as well as the South Professional Building, a medical office building on the south side of the hospital campus.
“Time is of the essence when finding emergency or trauma care and we want to be sure our local residents and communities are aware that there is a Trauma Center here at Botsford Hospital,” said Margo Gorchow, vice president for community relations and marketing at Botsford Hospital.
The first campaign of its kind for Botsford Hospital, the signage installation is expected to remain in place for three months. The vinyl mesh appears opaque but allows light to filter through the windows. Designed by Botsford’s advertising agency, Tango Associates of Farmington Hills, the signs were printed and installed by Innovative Media of Farmington Hills.
Other components of Botsford’s trauma center awareness campaign include radio, cable, and television advertising, outdoor advertising along I96, presentations to local city councils and community groups, an educational event for area police and fire chiefs and articles in the hospital’s consumer newsletter.
Botsford Hospital was verified as a Trauma Center by the Committee on Trauma (COT) of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in late February. This achievement recognized Botsford’s dedication to provide optimal care for injured patients and made Botsford the first Trauma Center serving the western portion of Oakland County.
