Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (April 27, 2010)---As part of National Hospital Week, Botsford Hospital’s pastoral care leaders will offer a special blessing to employees for their role in care giving. All Botsford Hospital staff are invited to have their hands blessed as a sign of the care and healing they offer to patients.
“It’s an opportunity for all employees, no matter where they work or what they do, to come and receive acknowledgement for the sacred work they do everyday,” says Rev. Kurt Stutz, Botsford’s Director of Pastoral Care. “This is not a religious ceremony, but it is a spiritual reflection that celebrates the many jobs that our hands do. To be appreciated through special words is very powerful and means so much to our employees.”
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 13 at 6:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Hospital Chapel.
This is the second annual blessing of the hands ceremony Botsford has offered employees. Last year, more than 225 employees received the blessing.
