Farmington Hills, Mich. (December 30, 2009)---Botsford Hospital’s cafeteria will undergo a renovation of its dining and serving areas beginning January 11, 2010. The renovation, which reflects Botsford and Sodexo’s (the hospital’s food service partner for more than 20 years) efforts to improve food service for Botsford employees, patients, visitors, physicians and volunteers, should be concluded in mid-March. To facilitate this project, Botsford Hospital’s cafeteria will temporarily be moved to the physician dining room near the cafeteria. Cafeteria services hours will remain the same and will have no impact on patients receiving their meals.
Botsford and Sodexo are working diligently to make sure the temporary location runs efficiently and can handle the peak meal times. The temporary cafeteria will offer its usual items including pizza, hot entrees, vegetables and starches. There will be no grill, however some grill items will be available with the hot foods. Pre-made cold sandwiches will take place of the deli and prepared salads will take place of the salad bar. There will be no theme station. Payment will remain the same with two cashiers accepting cash, credit and debit cards and payroll deduction.
Renovation plans include all new flooring in the dining and serving areas, new counters and serving stations, redone walls and ceilings, and all new tables and chairs. Patrick Tigue, Sodexo Account Director at Botsford Hospital, says, “Everything you can see and touch will be new. In addition, the serving area will be laid out in a more efficient manner. Sodexo is also working on a new national menu that is currently in the testing phase that we will implement at Botsford when the renovated cafeteria re-opens in March. We are excited about these changes and know it will allow us to provide even better customer service to our patrons.”
Cafeteria renovations were designed by Stucky Vital Architects of Royal Oak. Construction services will be provided by Contracting Resources of Brighton. Bill Scheuber, Botsford Hospital’s Administrator for Professional and Support Services, says, “We’re excited about this project that will benefit our visitors and employees who eat in the cafeteria daily.”
