Farmington Hills, Mich. (October 27, 2009)---Robert P. Heinrich, 65, has become a member of The Botsford Foundation board of directors. His affiliation with Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills includes co-chairing the Share the Vision Campaign, which raised funds for the construction of the now open Botsford Cancer Center and for the external renovation and refurbishment of the historic Botsford Inn.
Now retired, Heinrich served as president/CEO of Farmington Hills’ Metrobank from 1984 until its acquisition in 2004 by Citizens First Savings Bank headquartered in Port Huron.
Before that, Heinrich had been with National Bank of Detroit for 16 years. He began his career as a management trainee and then entered branch management. By 1979, Heinrich was named manager of NBD's largest branch, which at the time had total deposits in excess of $100 million. He then spent a year as a credit analyst and four years as an AVP/commercial loan officer with responsibilities for a portfolio totaling $133 million and accounts that included Fortune 500 companies.
Heinrich’s community volunteerism has included serving as director of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority and the Farmington Hills/Farmington Community Foundation. He is the immediate past president of the Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families for which he continues to serve as a member of its Executive Committee and Capital Development Committee.
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system. Botsford Hospital each year cares for approximately 16,000 inpatients and more than 60,000 emergency and trauma patients with a team of 2,500 employees, 300 volunteers and more than 600 physicians. A not-for-profit hospital, Botsford provided almost $10.5 million in community benefit during its 2011 fiscal year.
