Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (September 9, 2009)---Dr. Stephan R. Morse, Chairman of Botsford Hospital’s Radiology Department, and his colleagues have been involved in the diagnosis of hundreds of cases of breast cancer over the years. So, when Botsford Hospital decided to build a breast center, it was fitting that Dr. Morse and his colleagues at Botsford Medical Imaging, P.C., made a commitment to contribute $100,000 toward the Botsford Breast Center.
Dr. Morse says, “It was important for us to support such a vital new center that will provide screening to more than 9,000 women each year. The new breast center will reflect Botsford’s continued commitment to excellence and quality in the delivery of personal and compassionate health care for all faiths in our area.”
The Botsford Breast Center, scheduled to open in November, will be located in the Botsford Cancer Center located in front of the hospital campus on Grand River Ave. in Farmington Hills. The breast center will bring digital mammography to the Botsford campus. Within the new facility, patients will also benefit from breast ultrasound, stereotactic core biopsy and access to breast MRI-the newest, most advanced technologies to detect breast cancers in the earliest and most treatable stages.
Botsford is dedicated to making the experience less intimidating and more comfortable and encourages women to not delay their mammograms. For those whose mammograms lead to a cancer diagnosis, Botsford can provide other advanced technologies that will help their oncologists develop and implement the best possible treatment plan. Patients will be able to move seamlessly from diagnosis to treatment in the Botsford Cancer Center.
As part of the fundraising efforts for the Botsford Breast Center, the hospital’s fourth annual Autumn Gala will support this initiative. The event will be held on Saturday, November 14 at the Ritz Carlton in Dearborn and includes dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well as ad space in the program booklet. Those interested in supporting or attending the Autumn Gala may contact The Botsford Foundation at (248) 442-5045.
Botsford Hospital has a variety of naming opportunities for the Botsford Breast Center. If you are interested in these levels of giving or making another contribution, please contact The Botsford Foundation at (248) 442-5045.
