Botsford News Release
Farmington Hills, Mich. (August 6, 2009)---Botsford Hospital’s Louis J. Spagnuolo, D.O., Golf Classic, held on Thursday, July 30, was a wonderful success. With the support of the Botsford community including physicians, business partners and community partners, the event raised over $75,000. All of the proceeds will benefit The Botsford Foundation (the Botsford Breast Center), the Commission on Children’s Issues of Redford and the Farmington Hills Police Benevolent Association.
For the past 13 years, the golf outing has raised more than $500,000 for the local community. Marla Kaminsky, Development Associate for The Botsford Foundation, says, “During these tough economic times, we are thrilled to see the community continue to come together for important charitable causes. Everyone had a fabulous time and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.”
Botsford Hospital is a multi-specialty 330 bed hospital and verified trauma center located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The campus also houses an imaging center and a comprehensive care cancer center. Botsford Hospital is also home to an extensive medical education program and is part of Michigan State University's statewide campus system. Botsford Hospital each year cares for approximately 16,000 inpatients and more than 60,000 emergency and trauma patients with a team of 2,500 employees, 300 volunteers and more than 600 physicians. A not-for-profit hospital, Botsford provided almost $10.5 million in community benefit during its 2011 fiscal year.
