Lucky Leprechauns Get Free Workout at Botsford

Novi, MI (March 9, 2009)--- Bring your lucky leprechauns to the Botsford Center for Health Improvement (BCHI) for St. Patrick’s Day.  Enjoy free workouts from Sunday, March 15 through Saturday, March 21.

Work off all those Irish libations or corned beef and cabbage at BCHI’s group exercise classes, or, if you are feeling lucky, do your own workouts on the cardio and strength training equipment.

A variety of free classes are offered throughout the week including yoga, stretch and tone, spinning, sit and be fit, tai chi, aqua fit, pilates and more.

5:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Body Fat Analysis Test.  Are you wondering if you are wearing a bit more body fat than you should?  This test is quick and painless, unlike the pinches traditionally given on St. Patrick’s Day.  Stop by the fitness desk to request the test.

6:00-6:45 a.m.
CORE Conditioning increases core strength with floor exercises and power band training.  Benefits include ab toning, increased flexibility, and stability in the lower back.

8:00-9:00 a.m.
Gentle Aerobics is a therapeutic water program that increases range of motion, muscle strength and toning.  It’s great for arthritis or other debilitating health conditions including post injury/surgical. Don’t forget your bathing suit!

10:00-11:00 a.m.
Yoga emphasizes the mind and body connection through fundamental movements and poses, breathing and alignment.  Along with promoting relaxation, it develops muscular strength, suppleness and flexibility.

11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Balance Basics helps with strength, flexibility and balance.  Create harmony in your body and balance in your life.

5:00-5:45 p.m.
Spinning incorporates cardiovascular, lower body strength, and intense cardio burning in a fun, motivational setting. ($2 bike fee)

5:00-6:00 p.m.

Fit Ball improves functional strength, balance and coordination while developing posture and core muscles including abdominal and lower back.

Aqua Fit is a high-energy cardiovascular conditioning and strength training class.  Class uses hydro-tone equipment to help tone and strengthen muscles.
