Farmington Hills, Mich., July 28, 2008 – Recently, a small group of local residents received an invitation in the mail to take a moment to tell why their Botsford Hospital physicians were special. The mailing was tied to Doctor’s Day, which was celebrated nationally on March 30. The vast majority of the 37 notes received by The Botsford Foundation also contained charitable donations to Botsford Hospital from these satisfied, and grateful, people. The largest donation was $200, and the average donation was $45. In fact, 29 of the 37 were first-time donors to Botsford Hospital, a smaller-sized community teaching hospital located in Farmington Hills.
“We are honored to have a staff of physicians at Botsford Hospital who provide the very best in patient care,” says Margo Gorchow, Executive Director, of The Botsford Foundation. “Our doctors genuinely believe they are not only treating diseases, but also, and more importantly, they are treating people. These affirmations from patients warmed our hearts.”
Patients gave permission to use the notes shared below:
Reggie Rosenbaum of Oak Park writes about Judith Joslyn-Page, D.O., an obstetrician-gynecologist who practices in Farmington: “Thank you for your compassionate care, physical and mental, and your loving personality.”
Cynthia and Bill Cleary of Farmington Hills wrote this about Andrew Cykiert, D.O., their primary care physician who is an internist practicing in Livonia: “Dr. Cykiert has always been there as an excellent physician and a friend to both of us.”
Ralph, Beverly and Todd Learst of Canton had this to say about their family doctor Melvin Linden, D.O., who practices in Dearborn Heights: “Dr. Linden, on behalf of the Learst Family, we sincerely thank you for the time, compassion and genuine concern you have provided as our family doctor for 20 years.”
Botsford Hospital, a 330-bed community hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich., was founded in 1965.
