Farmington Hills, Mich., July 22, 2008 – The Botsford Foundation receives inquiries each year from individuals and organizations that want to sponsor fundraising events for Botsford Hospital, an independent teaching hospital in Farmington Hills. These volunteers autonomously run what are known as “third-party” events.
So far this year, the organizations below have raised thousands of dollars by sponsoring third-party events to support Botsford Hospital’s mission, which promises an uncompromising commitment to excellence and quality in the delivery of personal and compassionate health care:
CDS Foundation sponsored the annual Wild Game Dinner at Livonia’s Laurel Manor in January that raised a $2,500 donation.
Downtown Farmington Merchants held a Shop Go Red event in February to support Botsford Hospital’s Cardiology Programs. Merchants included Bead Bohemia; Canary International; Eclectic Elegance; Focal Point Studio of Photography; Gala, a New American Bistro; J’s Jewelry; Merle Norman Cosmetics; Salon Legato; and Victorian Lace Elegance.
Launching a third-party event typically begins with an idea and plan of action presented to The Botsford Foundation, which works to solicit philanthropic support for Botsford Hospital’s services and programs. Upon review, the Foundation assists the potential volunteers to see if the proposed event is viable.
Examples of events could include golf outings, runs/walks, wine tastings and motorcycle rides. The Botsford Foundation encourages the development of these ideas. For more information, contact (248) 442-5045.
