Farmington Hills, Mich., April 3, 2008 – Valley Hill Therapy Center moved this week to its new facility at 26905 Grand River Avenue in Redford.
Valley Hill Therapy Center is Botsford Hospital’s outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation program. In addition to pulmonary rehabilitation, Valley Hill Therapy Center offers a physical therapy program that handles a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and physical medical rehabilitation therapies.
The relocation of the Valley Hill Therapy Center adds 2,000 square feet of space which will increase treatment capacity as well as enhance both the amount and type of clinical services provided for both pulmonary rehabilitation and physical therapy programs. A community education classroom, a patient exam room, a kitchenette area for Activities of Daily Living training, and two expanded patient exercise gyms will be available. “We are also offering other patient amenities such as flat panel televisions and the convenience of multiple handicap parking spaces next to the building,” said John Darin, RRT, Botsford’s Director of Respiratory Care.
Pulmonary rehabilitation can help patient with chronic lung diseases control symptoms of their conditions ranging from shortness of breath, fatigue, wheezing and coughing. “The therapy can increase a person’s ability to live independently with chronic lung disease,” Darin said.
The Valley Hill Therapy Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. “Unlike many other clinics, Valley Hill patients are not limited to group therapy sessions,” Darin said. “We focus on one-on-one personalized therapy. This has given us proven outcomes with evidence-based practice.” Valley Hill Therapy Center is required to meet the rigorous hospital accreditation standards of the American Osteopathic Association.
