Farmington Hills, Mich., July 25, 2007 – Botsford Hospital, in Farmington Hills, has hired Henry Micallef, of Ann Arbor, to be its physician recruitment and relations representative. This is a newly created position. Micallef previously worked at Beckman Coulter as laboratory automation sales representative.
Micallef’s primary focus is on growing strong relationships between Botsford and its medical staff of more than 600 physicians. He is committed to learning what concerns they or their patients may have, solving problems and providing prompt follow-up communication. For example when discovering that a physician’s staff had difficulty scheduling a patient for a CT scan, Micallef explained how to use Botsford’s new appointment scheduling program that allows physicians’ offices to schedule patient appointments within 24 hours of calling for ambulatory radiology, ultrasound, CT scans, nuclear medicine and cardiac testing. Currently, his visits focus on Botsford’s 129 family medicine specialists and 52 internal medicine specialists.
When recruiting new physicians to join the medical staff at Botsford, Micallef stresses its stellar services and award-winning reputation in the community. He also notes that increasing the number of Botsford physicians serves to fill the growing need in the communities that rely on Botsford for all their health care services.
