They will also have the opportunity to speak with staff about the services offered including how BCHI can help you with its personalized health, fitness and education programs.
This December, when Botsford General Hospital opens the Botsford Center for Health Improvement, they will join the growing number of hospitals around the country that have embraced medically-supervised physical activity as an enjoyable form of treatment and prevention. More than a health club, BCHI will offer a “medical-model” approach to all of its programs, integrating fitness, lifestyle and behavior management with medical and clinical practices. Jay Berry, BCHI’s Director, says, “Our facility is unique because it emphasizes the importance of working with doctors and physical therapists in creating a personalized exercise program.” BCHI is specifically designed for anyone who would like to experience a new approach to health and fitness.
The Botsford Center for Health Improvement will offer a full spectrum of care with personalized programs in weight management, risk factor reduction, stress management, pre- and post-natal exercise, arthritis, disease management services and more. The center will feature an aquatics center with warm-therapy and lap pool, aerobics center with floating floor to reduce strain on joints, tai-chi, yoga, pilates, walking track, spacious locker rooms and certified specialists.
