Farmington Hills, MI (April 14, 2006)--- Botsford Commons Senior Community and the Botsford Foundation will honor Arnette Carter as the 2006 recipient of the Pieces from the Heart Volunteer Recognition Award on May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Commons Dining Room.
Mrs. Carter was selected for this award because of her continued service and dedication to our community. Kimberly Gimmarro, a Botsford Commons staff member says, “From the time she became Botsford Common’s first condominium owner, over eleven years ago, we have had a hard time distinguishing her from a resident, an employee, or a volunteer. She’s everywhere!”
Mrs. Carter is a dedicated volunteer who started helping Botsford Commons when its new nursing home was opened in 1996. When the campus residents held their first craft show, she quickly stepped up to co-chair the event. For years, she has also served on the Board of Directors for her Condominium Association, which she describes as her most rewarding experience.
Mrs. Carter is also known to volunteer at the Property Management desk when the staff is on vacation, answering questions and providing general information. Her assistance to the Property Management team and campus administration is invaluable.
Mrs. Carter, who regularly attends Nardin Park Methodist Church in Farmington, is a special part of the Botsford community. Gimmarro says, “Botsford is extremely fortunate to have such a devoted friend and community member.”
