Farmington Hills, MI (April 3, 2006)--- Botsford Health Care Continuum is reaching out to older adults and their families in the local community by sponsoring a free Health and Medicare Prescription Enrollment Fair on Thursday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield.
The fair will assist people who have Medicare coverage or who will soon be eligible for that coverage and their family members. The session is designed to help attendees understand the differences among the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage programs being offered and then select and enroll in the plan that best meets the needs of the individual. Botsford’s trained enrollment counselors will be available to answer your questions, provide information about premiums and deductibles and help you to enroll in the plan of your choice.
The event will also offer blood pressure checks, injury and fall prevention tips, information about durable power of attorney and advance directives, information on preventing incontinence, bone density screenings and foot screenings. Additional health information will also be available.
In order to enroll in a Medicare Prescription Plan, you should plan to bring your Medicare card and a list of your current medications. If you cannot afford to pay the monthly Medicare Prescription premium, you may qualify for assistance through the Extra Help Program.
For more information about the fair, please contact Wendy Goddard, RN, at Botsford General Hospital at (248) 471-8162. All members of the community are welcome to attend. This event is part of Temple Israel’s Senior Adult Program.
