Ms. Hurst, a Royal Oak resident, is a certified physician assistant and a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. She is the CEO and Executive Director for the Wayne County Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner’s Program (WC SAFE), a non-profit organization staffed by registered nurses, physician assistants and physicians who are specifically trained to provide medical-forensic examinations to victims of sexual assault.

Ms. Hurst received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University and her Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis on athletic training and exercise physiology from the University of Minnesota. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise Science with a focus on athletic training from Michigan State University.
