Farmington Hills, MI (February 16, 2006)--- Botsford Health Care Continuum is reaching out to older adults and their families in the local community by sponsoring three free Medicare Prescription Enrollment Fairs in Redford, Livonia and Southfield.
The first fair will be on Monday, February 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Addams Elementary School in Redford. The next fair will be on Friday, March 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Civic Park Senior Center in Livonia. The last fair will be on Tuesday, March 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Southfield Public Library.
The events are tailored to the needs of people who have Medicare coverage or who will soon be eligible for that coverage and their family members. The sessions are designed to help attendees understand the differences among the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage programs being offered and then select and enroll in the plan that best meets the needs of the individual. Botsford’s trained enrollment counselors will be available to answer your questions, provide information about premiums and deductibles and help you to enroll in the plan of your choice.
In order to enroll in a Medicare Prescription Plan, you should plan to bring your Medicare card and a list of your current medications. You do not have to sign up for the prescription plan in order to attend. If you cannot afford to pay the monthly Medicare Prescription premium, you may qualify for assistance through the Extra Help Program.
Reservations are required. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact Wendy Goddard, RN, at Botsford General Hospital at (248) 471-8162.
